Rich text to Markdown
Copy a formatted reply from ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, a Google Doc or a web page, and paste it into the box. You get Markdown with the formatting kept.

Markdown
Runs in your browser. Nothing you paste leaves this page.
Why a paste loses its formatting
When you copy from a web page or an app like ChatGPT, the clipboard holds the same selection more than once: as HTML (with the bold, lists and code) and as plain text. A code editor or a plain text field takes the plain text, which is the words without the markup. This page reads the HTML version instead and writes it out as Markdown. More on how the clipboard works.
What it keeps
- Headings, bold, italics and strikethrough
- Bulleted, numbered and nested lists, and task lists
- Code blocks with their language, and inline code
- Quotes, tables, links and horizontal rules
- Styled text some apps use instead of tags: bold weights, italics and code fonts set with CSS
Images become their alt text, and anything the page had for decoration only (buttons, icons, scripts) is dropped.
