Box table to Markdown
Paste a table drawn with box characters, from a CLI, a database shell or an AI agent, and get a Markdown table you can paste into docs, GitHub or Notion.
Box table
Markdown
Runs in your browser. Nothing you paste leaves this page.
What it handles
- Single and double lines: tables drawn with │ ─ ┼ or ║ ═ ╬.
- Wrapped cells. When rules separate every row, the lines between two rules are one row, so a cell that wrapped onto a second line is merged back into one.
- Text around the table is kept as it is, and several tables in one paste are all converted.
- Pipes inside cells are escaped so they don't break the Markdown table.
Tables without side borders (plain columns lined up with spaces, like ls -l or docker ps) aren't box tables, so they're left alone: there's no reliable way to tell where one column ends when a value contains spaces.
