Unwrap is a Mac app you buy once for $1.99. It works entirely on your Mac and has no account, no server of its own and no analytics.
What Unwrap reads
- New copies on your clipboard, to decide whether to fix them. Only copies from terminals, code editors' built-in terminals and the agent apps listed in Settings are changed. Copies marked as private or temporary by password managers are never read.
- Agent session files on your Mac:
~/.claude/projectsfor Claude Code and the Claude app's Code tab, and~/.codex/sessionsfor Codex. Unwrap reads replies from the last 7 days (you can change this) to match your copies to the original markdown. You can turn this off in Settings.
What Unwrap keeps
- Recent fixes, in memory only. They are shown in the menu and the Recent fixes window, and are gone when you quit Unwrap.
- Counts, never content: how many copies were fixed and lines joined, for the weekly numbers in the menu.
- Your settings, in the app's preferences file.
What Unwrap sends
Nothing about you or your copies. Unwrap makes two kinds of request:
- A daily check for a signed update, to
unwrap.mayankbuilds.com/appcast.xml. Unwrap works the same if you block it; you just won't get updates. - The license check, to Dodo Payments (
live.dodopayments.com), when you activate or deactivate and about once a week after that. It sends only your license key and your Mac's name, which shows next to the activation in your customer portal. Offline, Unwrap keeps working for 30 days between checks.
Buying Unwrap
Checkout, receipts, refunds and license keys are handled by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record. They see the name, email and payment details you enter at checkout; Unwrap and this site never do.
This website
The site counts page views and downloads without cookies, IP addresses or user IDs: just the page, the referring site, the country and whether it's a phone or a computer. It may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works the same way.
