Changelog

Every release, newest first. Unwrap updates itself; you can also check from its Settings › About.

New

  • A new welcome: the first screen lists what Unwrap does, and a new step asks for Accessibility up front so Paste Clean works the first time (it can be skipped). Existing installs see the welcome once more.
  • Unwrap costs $1.99, once, for one Mac (license key by email, through Dodo Payments; no trial, 14-day refund). Until a key is activated it fixes nothing: the menu, onboarding and Settings › License ask for the key, with Buy and Find my key links. The license is re-checked about once a week, and Unwrap keeps working offline for 30 days.
  • Fixes text copied from terminals: rejoins wrapped lines, removes agent glyphs and padding, repairs split URLs, rebuilds box-drawn tables.
  • Restores the original markdown of Claude Code and Codex replies from the session files on your Mac.
  • Pastes markdown in editors and formatted text in Slack, Notion and Mail.
  • Paste Clean, Paste Original and Copy Last Reply keys; a reply picker.
  • Confirmation pill with Undo, menu bar menu with recent fixes and weekly counts. Each recent fix shows its first two readable lines, without code fences or markdown symbols.
  • The Formatted view reads like the reply: prose and markdown are drawn rendered (bold, lists, code as a small chip) instead of as raw markdown in a code font; code keeps its highlighting.
  • Copies from Chromium and Electron apps are only marked as code where the text's own font is a code font, and a styled wrapper around a whole selection no longer turns it into one code span.
  • Recent fixes window (View all): every fix since launch, grouped by day and searchable, each with Formatted and Original, Copy and Export. Right-click a fix to copy either version or remove it.
  • Turn Unwrap off in one app from the menu bar while that app is in front: its copies are left alone and Unwrap's keys go to the app (so ⌃⌘V works in Chrome again). Settings › Sources lists every app it's off in, with Turn on and Add app.
  • Onboarding with a live demo, and Settings for sources, keys and feedback.
  • Copies from agent desktop apps come back as markdown: restored from session history (Claude's Code tab, Codex, Conductor), or rebuilt from the copy's HTML or RTF formatting (Claude's Chat tab, ChatGPT, Perplexity). Copies with no formatting to add are left alone.
  • The session index builds about 10x faster (about 9 s for 2.8 GB of sessions, down from 95 s): only lines that can hold a reply are parsed.
  • Detects what a copy is (markdown, code and its language, shell command, JSON, diff, table, log, stack trace, link, path, text) and shows character, word and line counts.
  • Export window: Mac-window, card or plain image with syntax highlighting, six backgrounds, light or dark; copy the image or save PNG, JPEG, PDF, HTML, Markdown, RTF or text. Export clipboard key (⌃⌥⌘E).
